Ekaterine Buachidze

mezzo-soprano, HZF scholar in Munich

Twenty-one years old, Ekaterine was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. She began her singing career as a member of the children's folk choir “Little Georgica,” with whom she won the Grand Prix of Nations in Berlin in 2017. In 2020, Ekaterina entered the Vano Sarajishvili State Conservatory in Tbilisi. In 2023, she joined the Fabbrica Young Artist Programme of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, where she made her debut as Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. She has performed as Flora (La Traviata), Drummer (Viktor Ullmann's The Emperor of Atlantis) and Shepherdess (Jenůfa).

Ekaterina joined the Bavarian State Opera's opera studio at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. Already, you can see her perform as Glascha in the new production of Kát'a Kabanová, Sandman in Hansel and Gretel, Second Girl in The Marriage of Figaro and Annina in La Traviata.
